AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has announced its operational performance for the month of September 2007.
The airline reported a September consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 79.0%, 0.8 points
A domestic mainline load factor of 81.1%, 0.1 points below September 2006, was also reported for the month, as well as an international mainline load factor of 77.2%, 1.5 points above September 2006.
During September Continental recorded a US Department of Transportation (DOT) on-time arrival rate of 88.0%, and a mainline mileage completion factor of 99.9%.
The carrier flew 7.3bn consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 9.2bn consolidated available seat miles (ASMs) during the month, resulting in a traffic increase of 5.6% and a capacity increase of 4.5% as compared to September 2006.
The airline also said that 6.5bn mainline RPMs and 8.3bn mainline ASMs were flown during the month, resulting in a mainline traffic increase of 7.1% and a mainline capacity increase of 6.2% as compared to the same month of the prior year.
For September 2007 domestic mainline traffic was 3.4bn RPMs, an increase of 4.5% from September 2006, and domestic mainline capacity was 4.3bn ASMs, showing growth of 4.6% as compared to the same month of the prior year.
