Sep. 17--As Hurricane Isabel approached eastern North Carolina Tuesday, many made plans to get to high ground.
But people looking to get out of Dodge before the hurricane could hit should keep in mind they won't be the only ones with the idea, said transportation officials.
Robert Vause, N.C. Department of Transportation district engineer, said people leaving the area should drive with caution and patience.
