AMSTERDAM, Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2002

Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that it will provide Dutch airline Martinair with its Lawson Human Resources suite. The software will help Martinair consolidate and

automate HR processes and optimize its data from more than 2,500 employees across all divisions of the airline. Initially, 50 members of Martinair's human resource and management team will utilize the core Lawson system with the entire organization coming on-line by the summer of 2003.

The Lawson implementation at Martinair includes multiple data-entry points that integrate into a single, centralized database, with employee self-service access through a Web-based portal. This Web-based model fulfills an important Martinair requirement, which dictated that the technology be rolled out gradually in accordance with company-wide restructuring plans. Additionally, Martinair management can be confident of security as Lawson Human Resources supports confidentiality of employee data and is secured through tiered access according to pre-set security levels.

"Our wish to reform our classic designed HR processes into an externally focused unit left us with two important questions. One, how to optimize the use of our human resources and do it in such a way that multiple data entry points were integrated in one application. And two, how to deliver a self-service component to comply with the external focus we'd like our HR department to have. Lawson provides us with just that," said Frans Wirtz, senior vice president of HR at Martinair.

"Changes will never take place overnight. We decided to implement Lawson Human Resources with our core HR department first and then, when we're ready for it, roll it out to the rest of our 2,500 employees in the Netherlands. Employees will gain access via a Web browser. Management will benefit from Lawson's application because it will provide them with vital business information. This way Martinair as a company will gain the edge it needs in this business."

"Lawson was able to provide a comprehensive tool to cut down the costs of various outsourced processes and give Martinair one point of entry for all its data," explained Simon Rigden, vice president of International Operations with Lawson Software. "Additionally, Martinair will leverage the Lawson implementation to roll out its new HR self-service strategy for improved workforce optimization."
