UK and Yemen discuss security co-operation.

The UK will help Yemen to secure its coasts against potential terrorist attack, according to Yemeni official sources.

The report said a British defence ministry official met Yemeni interior minister Rashad al-Alimi in San'aa and discussed the state of preparedness of the Yemeni coastguard.

The parties agreed that their countries would step up co-opera tion in strengthening the coastguard and Yemeni special security forces to combat terrorism and other crime. They discussed establishing offshore security posts to thwart terrorist operations.
