Hellbeater marine fire pump.
The same portable equipment and firefighting agent used by the U.S. Navy as well as marine salvage companies, is now available to municipal and port authority fire departments.
Supplied by Maritime Solutions, Inc., New York, N.Y., the Hellbeater pumps and monitor sets and stocks of firefighting agent, Pyrocool, can be pre-positioned and maintained along the waterfront by fire departments, for quick deployment aboard local tugs, workboats and vessels at the time of an incident, effectively converting the boats into NFPA Class A fireboat equivalents.
Maritime Solutions, Inc., the U.S. supplier of the pump sets, has also arranged for the training of municipal firefighters in shipboard firefighting tactics and the use of the Hellbeater pumps and Pyrocool firefighting agent through an NFPA 1405-compliant course developed and offered by the Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies (MITAGS).
