There are deals to be had for incentive group planners eying island destinations. At the Our Lucaya resort in the Bahamas, group promotion includes a one-hour welcome reception, 5 percent discount on food functions, and free meeting space and greens fees. Room rates start at $125 per night.

Further, groups that book by March 20 for travel in 2002 and 2003 can receive a rebate of $10,000 when reserving at least 100 rooms for three nights or more. Groups reserving 50 rooms will get a $5,000 rebate.

The Beaches/Sandals resort group is offering 30 percent off its normal rates to groups of 25 or less, and is willing to negotiate discount rates with larger groups on a case-by-case basis.

The Bermuda tourism office offers a credit of $50 per room, per night, for groups (15-room minimum) staying at any of four hotels: the Elbow Beach Resort, Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Fairmont Southampton Princess or Sonesta Beach Resort.
