New Website Appeals to Event Planners, Attendees

Los Angeles -- A website that launched Monday, ConventionZoo.com, offers a broad array of consumer services for convention attendees while at the same time providing planners a free event web page.

Attendees can buy tickets for flights, shows, concerts, movies, and theme parks; and reserve hotel rooms, rental cars, airport parking, and restaurant dining. Planners can use the same consumer services to buy attendee gifts. City guides and print maps are also available on the website.

Specifically for planners, the company will create a web page customized for a specific event, with a hyperlink to the meeting sponsor's online registration web page.

The company will also list the event in the "Hot Conventions" area of the ConventionZoo.com website and promote the event in its twice-monthly newsletter.

"That kind of exposure to people interested in attending specialized conventions may be all an event planner needs to gain attendees," said Rosana Chermisqui, who with Dean Packingham co-founded ConventionZoo.com.

Planners can choose to add or exclude any ConventionZoo.com feature. For example, planners can have the hotel booking engine removed to encourage attendees to reserve rooms at hotels where they have contracted for room blocks. The company will list the hotel and include a hyperlink to the hotel booking web page.
