BRAZIL: CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR PROPOSED $150,000,000 IRON ORE PELLET PRODUCTION CAPACITY...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local FERTECO MINERACAO is currently gearing-up to build a new iron ore pellet plant in Brazil. According to Klaus Schweizer, FERTECO President, the basic engineering project for the new facility has already been approved.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a complex with an installed production capacity ranging between 4 and 5 million tons per year (t/y). The new unit, the company's second, would produce both blast furnace and direct reduced iron(DRI) pellets.
