Export earnings expected to increase 4.4pc to RM390b, BUSINESS TIMES

MALAYSIA's export earnings are expected to touch RM390 billion, a 4.4
per cent increase by year-end compared to last year's RM373.4 billion.

Malaysia recorded a total exports worth RM220 billion, RM280 billion
and RM320 billion in 1997, 1998 and 1999 respectively.
Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Kerk Choo Ting
said the manufacturing sector would be the biggest contributor to the earnings
accounting for 80 per cent of the total value.
