Trade: what's hot, what's not.

Computers, telephones and VCRs are hot. Jets and satellites are not.

That's the skinny on Florida's trade trends, says Henry Schulkin, president of the Miami-based research firm, Market Information Analysis. For the five-year period of 1989 to 1993, Schulkin broke down the top 10 commodities (in terms of value) exported through Miami International Airport to see what the hot tickets are in Latin America. Not surprisingly, industrial machinery, telecommunication equipment and home entertainment merchandise registered the biggest percentage gains during that time.
