Annual Production Capacity Will Increase to 350,000 Tons
Currently, there is only 1 VCM producer operating in Indonesia, namely PT Asahimas Subentra Chemical (PT ASC). PT Asahimas Subentra Chemical operates under the foreign investment (PMA) scheme, and it has the capacity to produce 150,000 tons of VCM and 29,900 tons of ethylene dichloride (EDC) per annum. PT Asahimas Subentra Chemical consumes its own VCM production, namely to produce PVC resin. The VCM production process always leaves some quantity of EDC unprocessed due imperfect reactions. This unprocessed EDC can be used to add to the basic material for VCM production.
