U.S. beer imports in May increase

According to the Beer Institute, the total beer imports into the United States during May, 1990, were 0.6-percent greater than the corresponding period in 1989. In all, 26.16 million gallons were imported during the month, compared to 26 million in May, 1989. The trend, however, was reversed for the first five months, as the year-to-date figures through May showed a 2.7-percent decrease to 104.2 million gallons.
