9. Lack of Enthusiasm

This is your first and sometimes only chance to showcase your personality, so don't walk in announcing how bad your day has been going so far. Be polite and upbeat. Show your enthusiasm for both the job and the opportunity to interview for it. And don't forget to thank the person at the end of the interview!

It doesn't hurt to smile and thank any other employees you may have been introduced to. Many an interviewer has asked the office receptionist what he or she thought of the interviewee, as it can be a good gauge of the person's "authentic" demeanor.
