Steria wins E133m contract to build communications network.

The UK city of Norwich has awarded Steria, the French IT company, a contract worth E133m to install and manage a communications network providing the city's municipal government with better IT services.

The French company said that it would lead a consortium, including KPMG Consulting and British Telecom Group Plc, on the project that seeks to give people living in the city access to municipal information services.

The proposed 15-year project, is part of the UK governement's public-private-partnership (PPP) drive, which supports private companies running more public services.
