Electromagnetic radiation emitted from mobile phones does not have any short-term, adverse health effects, says a report by The Health Council of the Netherlands (Gezondsheidsraad).

More than

half the country currently uses mobile phones and this figure is on the rise.

Researchers measured such possible effects mobile phones had on a change in brain activity during sleep and an increase in reaction speed, but found they were negligible.

More importantly, the investigation did not find any connection between the frequent use of the mobile phone and complaints of headaches and dizziness, or an increase in the probability of developing a brain tumour.

But the Health Council, which advises the Dutch government on health issues, was less certain about the long-term effects of mobile usage and felt further investigation was necessary. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - http://www.m2.com))
