Transportation.com Responds to Customers with an Online Classified Advertisement Service.

Transportation.com[TM], the Internet transportation marketplace providing broad-based products. services and information for shippers and carriers, announces the introduction of Classifieds, a service identified as an industry need by Transportation.com's partners and customers.

This

new service provides the transportation community with an easy-to-use tool to buy and sell new and used industry equipment and allows transportation.com members to post and set a selling price for equipment directly on the site. Equipment can be designated to sell within a publicly viewed environment or sellers can create a private selling environment for a targeted community of buyers. Buyers can search equipment listings by category and other search criteria, review additional details and select purchases by notifying the seller directly. With more than 1400 tractors, trailers and trucks posted since it launched less than two weeks ago, the service is averaging nearly 350 page views per day.

For customers who do not wish to use Transportation.com's auction services, Classifieds provides a purchasing alternative to the auction bidding process. Transportation.com's Auctions is averaging 500 unique visitors a day, and has sold more than 600 items, including trucks, trailers, forklifts and other transportation equipment.

"Transportation.com has been very accommodating, and has demonstrated an ability to develop and deliver its classified ad technology to support our efforts in an amazingly short period of time," said Ed Justis, chief operating officer of Arrow Truck Sales. "They have provided us with an excellent opportunity to open up another sales channel in this oversaturated market."

"Classifieds is an example of our capacity for `extreme programming,'" said Transportation.com's senior vice-president of Technology, Dan Bentzinger. "Our technology team developed the classified functionality from the ground up in short order, demonstrating our commitment to assess a need and swiftly execute to meet market demand."

"This service is another example of our constant passion to satisfy our customers," concluded John Norris, senior vice-president of Marketing and Communications for Transportation.com. "Our classified ad service helps our carriers get the highest possible price in the market, without ever having to park their truck and risk lost revenue while the vehicle sits idle."
