Online broker Fimatex announced it has bought France?s most popular stock trading information site, Boursorama.
Boursorama reported it receives 1.4m unique visitors per month and has 850,000 members. Its turnover in 2001 was E7.8m and its net profit E1.5m.
Fimatex, owned by the bank Soci?t? G?n?rale, paid E44m for the complete company Finance-Net, which has Boursorama as its main subsidiary. E8.8m was paid in cash.
The two parties said they expect that the operation will lead to cost reductions thanks to synergies in marketing activities, including direct marketing. Also, Fimatex expects an average growth of 13,000 accounts per year, thanks to Boursorama?s large audience. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - http://www.m2.com))
