Business software developer J.D. Edwards(R) (NASDAQ:JDEC) today announced that South Carolina's Greenville County Public School District will implement J.D. Edwards' WorldSoftware(TM) application suite on the new IBM AS/400e midrange computer.

As part of a bold program to integrate financial, distribution, payroll and human resources processes throughout the 84 school, 55,000 student district, this implementation will enable the school district to eventually migrate to OneWorld(TM), J.D. Edwards' network-centric open systems enterprise solution.

The Greenville County Public School District will replace its current mainframe-based, internally developed system with J.D. Edwards' software, providing year 2000 readiness and the means by which the district can migrate toward a client/server computing environment inexpensively and efficiently. The district wi J.D.
