OpenSales, Inc., the leading provider of open source e-commerce solutions, today announced that it has used its recently acquired Series A funding to successfully attract Fortune 500 executives

to the company's management team. Leadership positions at the company -- which is preparing to launch its OpenSales AllCommerce(tm) open source e-commerce platform later this month -- have been taken by:


--  Jennifer Cooper, Vice President, Worldwide Sales. Cooper has over
    15 years of experience in leading the sales and strategic business
    development efforts with companies such as VXtreme, Inc., a
    Microsoft-acquired pioneer in streaming video, IBM and Oracle
    Corporation.

--  Christopher Schilling, Chief Financial Officer. Schilling comes to
    OpenSales with a ten-year track record of overseeing major
    financing for clients of Banc of America Securities, LLC, a
    subsidiary of Bank of America. In addition to founding the
    Mezzanine Finance Group at Banc of America Securities, Schilling
    also held key vice presidential and directorial positions in the
    private placements and capital markets groups at the institution.

--  Karen Varnado, Vice President of Business Development. A 20-year
    veteran of high technology, Varnado has held executive positions
    at IBM, Ziff-Davis and Oracle Corporation where she built and
    managed worldwide partnerships, strategic business development
    efforts and sales and marketing programs.

OpenSales announced its Series A Funding on May 2 of this year; financing for the round was supplied by idealab Capital Partners (ICP), idealab! and Sanchez Capital Partners. The company was founded in September 1998, open-sourced its product line in November 1999 and is scheduled to release the production versions of its freely available OpenSales AllCommerce(tm) software later this month.

OpenSales AllCommerce is a freely available platform for the complete management of e-commerce sites. The software, which runs on Linux, UNIX and Windows NT, is designed to allow the easy management of content, pricing, inventory, ordering and statistical information. OpenSales AllCommerce also works with any major database to manage thousands of transactions per second on inexpensive clusters of systems. To maximize use of the product, OpenSales offers a range of installation and customization options along with ongoing customer support.
