BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2001
CCBN (www.ccbn.com), a leading provider of Internet-based shareholder communications services, will webcast today a roundtable discussion on Regulation FD (Fair Disclosure) hosted by the National Investor Relations
Entitled "SEC Regulation Fair Disclosure (FD): The First Six Months - What Have We Learned?" the symposium will address the changes that have occurred in corporate disclosure practices as a result of Regulation FD, assess the rule's impact on investors, companies, analysts, and the media, examine whether any modifications in, or interpretations of, Regulation FD may be necessary and appropriate.
Representatives from the SEC, the exchanges, the earnings reporting services, the legal profession, academe, and the media will be joined by NIRI member investor relations practitioners and senior representatives from a number of professional organizations and trade groups on the panel.
The interactive session will take place at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, from 9:30am to 1:00pm. The audio portion of the symposium can be accessed through the NIRI Web site at www.niri.org.
CCBN is the leading provider of investor-related webcasts, conducting 3,000 conference call webcasts in the first quarter - an increase of over 50% since the passage of Regulation FD and more than twice the level of other competitors in the industry. More recently, CCBN was the official webcast sponsor of a roundtable discussion on Regulation FD hosted by the SEC on April 24 - the first-ever webcast in SEC history - and nearly 1,000 people tuned-in to the live Internet broadcast. An indexed, archived replay of that event can be accessed through CCBN's Regulation FD Resource Center at www.ccbn.com/regfd.html.
