IFS Will Migrate Two More TCM Users to IFS Applications Software for the Extended Enterprise.

TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2001

IFS North America Inc. Wednesday announced that it has signed two more contracts to migrate users of Time Critical Manufacturing (TCM) software to IFS Applications(TM) software for the extended enterprise.

The customers are Graphics Microsystems Inc. (GMI), a manufacturer of computerized ink control systems for the printing industry, and Miller Formless Co. Inc., a manufacturer of slipform machines for the construction industry.

IFS acquired the TCM software developer, Effective Management Systems Inc., in 1999 as part of its growth strategy in North America. Since then, the company has been converting TCM users to IFS Applications via a Migration Toolkit that provides a cost-effective, easy-to-manage and predictable transition.

"The IFS elements that appeal to us most are the ease of navigation within the system, the complete interface to the general ledger, and the 'what-if' analysis capability of the IFS/Constraint-Based Scheduling(TM) module," said Jerry Funderburgh, GMI vice president of operations. "This is just the start of reducing a number of home-grown systems and manual operations.

"With the extensive range of IFS e-business and enterprise components, we have endless ability to add more functionality in the long term."

"The top two factors that compel TCM users toward migration are ease of transition and the component nature of the IFS solution," said Terje Vangbo, IFS North America chief executive officer and president. "With the components, TCM customers of all sizes and types can choose precisely what they want, when they want. The Migration Toolkit gets them where they want to be with reduced risk and a rapid time to benefit."

Miller Formless machines are used to construct curbs, gutters, sidewalks, bridge parapets, and median barriers. The company will deploy the IFS software at its McHenry, Ill. facility.

GMI will implement the software solution at its facilities in Sunnyvale, Calif. and Dallas. GMI's automated ink control systems are installed worldwide on more than 375 press models.
