META Group selects Totality first in its MSP Vendor Comparison Index
Totality Corp., a leading provider of Application and Infrastructure Management (AIM) services for e-businesses,
The META MSP Vendor Comparison Index, released January 2001, ranked Totality ahead of 10 other full-service providers.
"We are extremely pleased to be recognized as the leading full-service managed service provider by a highly-regarded research firm like META," said Michael Carrier, co-founder and CTO of Totality. "Totality will continue to aggressively pursue the growing MSP market by offering a complete, outsourced solution for site management and operations. Fortune 2000 e-businesses and large-scale e-commerce sites experiencing site performance, quality issues and escalating operating costs are turning to Totality for 24x7 site management and operations."
In evaluating the market, META advises that the most important criteria to judge an MSP are technology, process and operational structure. In these three categories Totality's offering received the highest score possible.
The eight criteria by which all vendors were evaluated include:
-- Technology: Covers what technology is being used for site management as well as how the technology is integrated and extended. -- Operational Processes: Highlights the systems management processes in place and how these processes are executed in a consistent, repeatable manner across all customers. -- Operational Structure: Identifies how the physical support infrastructure is organized, maintained and built, including the vendor's operations centers. -- Packaging: Covers how the offering is structured, the level of standardization and how customers can adopt required services. -- Portal: Judges ease of use of the portal, including the ability to make alterations to the SLAs and configurations online. -- Comprehensiveness: Rates how operationally deep the service or process extends. A high rating indicates a broad set of services is offered and systems management processes are deep and supported by underlying technology. -- Partnerships: Identifies what channel partnerships are in place. -- Additional Services: Describes what additional services are offered by the MSP, including application maintenance, infrastructure architecture and infrastructure procurement.
META projects traditional enterprises will accelerate their adoption of managed services in 2001 and that by 2003/2004 enterprise customers will account for the vast majority of MSP services consumed, representing more than 80 percent of the MSP business. Totality caters to Fortune 2000 companies and offers outsourced services for both new e-business initiatives and existing sites experiencing operational challenges. Totality's site audit and assessment service (AuditWare), site scaling and performance enhancement service (TurboWare), and ongoing management services from 24x7 monitoring to full-service operations (ManageWare) -- specifically address the needs of complex e-business environments.
