n-ary Re-launches Its Java ColdFusion Engine tagServlet.

DUMFRIES, Scotland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2001

n-ary Limited has announced that it will re-launch its groundbreaking tagFusion product today under the name "tagServlet".

tagServlet is a 100% pure J2EE application that renders web pages that

were originally designed for the Allaire Corporation's (Nasdaq: ALLR) ColdFusion product. Initial tests suggest that tagServlet actually runs more efficiently than Allaire's own ColdFusion server.

tagServlet supports the majority of the most commonly used CFML tags in addition to supporting CFML's complete expression language. tagServlet has been undergoing thorough testing since July 2000 with a number of sites, including ShopSmart.com, the UK's largest shopping portal.

Alan Williamson, CEO of n-ary, commented, "Allaire has told us in no uncertain terms to refrain from using the tagFusion name, because users may believe tagFusion to be an Allaire product. Allaire have informed us they will begin legal proceedings unless we change the name of our product."

"This action surprised us, as we have been in discussion with Allaire since October last year about some collaboration, but last month Allaire retreated from the discussion table."

"Changing the name at this stage is not a problem for us," Williamson continues. "We have decided to revert to its original name, tagServlet, which emphasizes our product as a Java servlet solution that renders tag-based web pages. The current version renders ColdFusion pages, but it is possible to make tagServlet render other tag-based markup languages. As our product is more than just another ColdFusion engine, the name tagServlet is in fact a much better name for it."

Ceri Moran, Chief Operations Officer for n-ary, added: "In recent weeks we have seen a tremendous increase of interest in tagServlet. ColdFusion users have expressed to us concern about the merger of Allaire and MacroMedia (Nasdaq: MACR). Although there are new products from them in the pipeline, tagServlet is here now, available for beta download."
