Axiom Design, Inc. today announced Mark Scovel has been appointed Chief Technology Officer, charged with overseeing software architecture, development, testing and system integration efforts for custom installations and the industry-leading START initiative.

In his new role, Mr. Scovel will oversee the software-, hardware-, and integration-related functions on Axiom Design's signature custom projects, and the configurable platform for home systems and controls integration, currently being developed under the code name START (see related release dated 1.8.02).

Mark Scovel brings to Axiom Design over 18 years of software development and engineering experience. With a reputation for being a driven, high-energy achiever Mr. Scovel has been entrusted with extremely important software and technology development including, literally, life support systems. Experienced in real-time embedded systems, firmware, remote system diagnostics, and more recently AV control systems and programming services for commercial and resident clients worldwide, Mark Scovel was the founder of Quality Software Associates, which offered programming services for AMX and Crestron hardware.

Beyond his software development talent, Mark is known for his training expertise and management skills. His reputation is based on a record of success in project management, especially in the areas of accelerated schedules and software process creation.
