WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 2002
Zegato Solutions, Inc. (ZSI), a leader in e-business travel management and services for the public sector, today announced that the U.S. Marshals Service, our nation's oldest federal law enforcement agency, has selected
U.S. Marshals apprehend over 55 percent of all federal fugitives - more than all other federal agencies combined.
ZSI has begun deployment of the travel service at the U.S. Marshals' headquarters in Washington, D.C. and at several of the Service's District offices. The test is expected to conclude in at the end of this fiscal year. Full implementation would involve extending travel services to users in all U.S. Marshals Service offices, which stretch from the U.S. Virgin Islands to Guam.
Don Bailey, president, Zegato Solutions said, "Travel is mission critical to the U.S. Marshals. Their travelers need a highly secure, true end-to-end planning and expense management service that can be accessed 24-by-7. Zegato provides just that, with a secure Internet based service accessed by any browser. And because Zegato Solutions is the ASP, there's little or no training required, and no need to add IT infrastructure or staff."
"When selecting a vendor for this program, we were very careful to validate what capabilities really existed off-the-shelf," said Bob Whitely, Chief, Office of Finance, U.S. Marshals Service. "Zegato offered us a fully functional, truly intuitive service. We believe our travelers can use it with confidence no matter how remote their assignments may be."
Zegato Travel Service, outsourced to ZSI, is a total e-business travel planning and management system that is also deployed by the International Trade Commission (ITC), and is now being tested by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
The service was developed to manage the entire travel process via the Internet - from document preparation and approvals, to booking reservations, through travel card expense management and reconciliation, as well as electronic expense reimbursements.
ZSI methodology incorporates all the functionality of an end-to-end travel management system. It features the simplicity of an ASP model, or optional client hosted web-based service, that enables 24X7 access using any common browser or Palm OS PDA in a secure, paperless environment.
The system performs a pre-trip compliance review for all federal travel regulations, and interfaces with existing agency financial applications.
Zegato also interfaces with any government contract travel agency, and all Global Distribution System (GDS) options. This conforms to the recent trend to reduce federal travel costs by entering into fee-based services with travel agencies.
But Zegato takes this process another step by offering its own optional travel services transparently within the system to further reduce costs and simplify the reservations process through more efficient workflow management.
"Zegato was the first to deploy a service that includes best of breed emerging travel technologies with a virtual travel agency," said Don Bailey. "We developed Zegato Travel Service to quickly configure to the changing needs of our customers, while providing them with the industry's most cost-effective solution."
