for Wireless Operators to Ensure the Quality of the
Subscriber Data Service Experience
Pixo, Inc. (www.pixo.com),
In addition to the actual testing, NSTL will also eliminate several challenges that confront Operators with respect to application testing. NSTL has web infrastructure that can be customized for each Operator's specific requirements for handling developer registration, reporting, dissemination of information to developers and problem/status tracking. NSTL has been providing such testing and certification programs, commonly known as logo programs, for 14 years. Currently, NSTL provides such programs on a global scale for several clients in the wireless and mobile space including Qualcomm, Microsoft, Nokia and HP. Today's announcement extends their offering directly to leading Operators adopting J2ME.
"Operators need a reliable way of thoroughly testing new wireless Java applications," commented Mark Grandcolas, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Pixo. "Pixo already provides an end to end solution for content, downloading and hosting through our Wireless Java Alliance. By teaming with NSTL, Pixo can now present wireless Operators with a testing solution that can scale to meet their wireless Java (J2ME) certification needs."
"We are delighted to be working with a recognized leader in the J2ME wireless provisioning market as another way to offer our services directly to Operators," stated Lloyd Holder, CEO of NSTL. "NSTL has built an infrastructure to handle large volumes of applications, while ensuring that each submitting developer has a positive experience with the testing program. Such a program, coupled with the Pixo platform, will enable NSTL to serve more Operators who need to manage the growing number of available wireless java applications."
Pixo Mobile Download System (MDS) is a high performance server software solution that allows Operators to manage the complexity of delivering wireless content and Java applications over the air (OTA) to their subscribers. Pixo MDS manages the complete application download lifecycle, including developer application submission, matching applications to appropriate devices, notifying subscribers of new applications and upgrades, handling application downloads and tracking download information for billing purposes.
The Pixo Mobile Download Server (MDS) is built upon the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) framework and industry-leading software and hardware from BEA, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, and Sun Microsystems for Operator-grade scalability and robustness. The high performance of Pixo MDS is unmatched in the industry today.
