PEPID LLC Announces Expansion to Move Offices to Downtown Chicago.

Business Editors

PEPID LLC, the premier developer of handheld decision support tools for the medical community, today announced that they are expanding to larger office spaces in downtown Chicago due to the company's exponential growth.

Since 1994, PEPID's corporate headquarters

have been based in Evanston, Illinois, but the company has outgrown the space in recent years. Starting with only one product for emergency physicians with about 35 contributors, PEPID now brings six products to the market to serve not only emergency physicians, but also primary care physicians, clinical nurses, emergency services personnel and even medical students. PEPID has leveraged the expertise of more than 100 contributors--health professionals from all over the world--including leaders in the fields of emergency medicine, EMS services, nursing, cardiology, oncology, Nuclear/Biologic/Chemical weapons and many other important areas. The Sales & Marketing division will now reside in downtown Chicago in the Civic Opera Center and the Editorial & Operations department will be located on North Western Avenue.

Ken Daubenspeck, CEO of PEPID, said, "Our focus is to build a name for PEPID in our own community; this move represents the company's commitment to reach every Chicago-based institutional buyer - whether payer, provider, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and educational institution." He added, "We are thrilled to be even closer to our customer base in the greater Chicago area."

PEPID products are comprehensive, interactive reference tools for health professionals. These databases are downloadable onto all PDAs and PCs, providing instant access to critical information to medical personnel--when they need it, where they need it. PEPID products are compatible with all handheld computer platforms and have the power to improve point-of-care decisions and reduce medical errors.

They are the ultimate portable medical and drug reference tool that provides the unparalleled breadth and depth of knowledge and immediate recall that all health professionals need for their decision-making. The databases for these products include more than 1,600 disease and trauma presentations and over 1,500 drugs with complete dosing and prescribing information, adverse drug reactions, contraindications, interactions, kinetics and overdose management.

PEPID's products are widely used by doctors nationwide and by medical students at Harvard, Northwestern and McGill Universities. One of PEPID's proprietary products, PEPID EMS, was recently named one of the 21 'Hot Products 2002' by the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) -- the only software product on the list developed for all PDAs.
