ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 2002
InfoPrag Inc. first to implement joint IBM / Flamenco Web Services
Network solution
Flamenco Networks, a leading provider of software for reducing the costs and accelerating the benefits of Web services-based integration projects, has been chosen as an IBM(R) jStart partner, underscoring IBM's commitment to help customers and partners "jumpstart" their adoption of dynamic e-businesses utilizing Web services technologies.
IBM's jStart program brings together a worldwide team of specialists focused on helping customers develop e-business solutions utilizing emerging software technologies from IBM and innovators such as Flamenco Networks.
After utilizing IBM's WebsphereMQ and the Flamenco Network to enable Web services-based integration with its own SAP R/3 system, InfoPrag Inc., a leading SAP integration specialist and IBM development partner, is now packaging its SAP Web services integration solution for clients.
InfoPrag's base architecture leverages IBM's WebSphereMQ middleware and the Flamenco Network. WebSphereMQ provides an SAP-certified interface mechanism to get SAP data in and out of business applications. The Flamenco Network integrates with WebSphere to provide security, reliability, and manageability around the communication of that data over the Internet so companies can expose SAP interfaces to other internal users or business partners in a programmatic, standards-based way.
"The architecture we've created using IBM and Flamenco technologies can reduce the costs and accelerate the benefits associated with Web services-based SAP integration projects," says Tim Reimer, InfoPrag's president. "Web services technologies are an important advancement that our clients are very interested in."
"We believe that Web services applications are the key to establishing dynamic e-business relationships," said Rod Smith, vice president of Emerging Technologies at IBM. "Businesses interested in providing Web services applications will need tools to build the services, an open platform on which to deploy them, and a solid infrastructure that enables them to interact. IBM has led the way in the development of Web services tools, platforms and software, and Flamenco provides the missing piece - the shared network infrastructure to ease the implementation of Web services and help them proliferate."
"It goes without saying that we are delighted to be a jStart partner," says Dave Spicer, Flamenco founder and CTO. "IBM is being very aggressive in developing Web services technologies so they can bring the most creative and effective e-business solutions to their customers and we're proud to be associated with those efforts."
