Women's Networking Organization Hosts Interactive
Meeting to Share Insight, Gab and Guidance with Professional Women
What:Starting January 22nd, Wired Women Web, a not for profit women's technology organization, hosts Wired Women Webcasts on OregonLive.com. The Webcast brings "wired women" together to network, learn and interact like never before. The virtual monthly meetings feature discussion on technology issues and trends affecting women in their professional and personal lives. How it Works: The Wired Women Webcast combines live audio and a chatroom on OregonLive.com. The Webcast audience can ask questions in the chat room to get "real time" answers, or questions can be submitted before the Webcast via email. Beyond watching and listening, audience members can interact with each other for networking and idea sharing. After each Webcast, participants can visit the OregonLive.com Women's Forum (www.oregonlive.com/forums/women) to exchange feedback and thoughts on the show. Who: Wired Women Webcast is hosted by Michelle Christopher, Founder of Wired Women Web and an accomplished technology professional, and OregonLive.com Producer, Alise Munson. The premier Wired Women Webcast features Nigel Ballard of Joejava Wireless Consultancy discussing the current state of Portland's wireless Internet access ports in Pioneer Square. A debate has developed around the free wireless access available in Pioneer Square from Joejava Wireless Consultancy and the networks available through Starbucks and T-Mobile. Both groups want to provide wireless Internet access in the same area -- one charges for access, one doesn't. Learn what's going to happen next in this evolving debate and why you need to know about wireless technology. When: "Smart Women, Smart Talk" premieres Wednesday, January 22, 2003, from 1:00pm - 1:30 pm PDT. (Participants are encouraged to log into the Webcast chatroom 10 minutes prior to the show if they do not already have the RealOne Media Player installed on their system.) Where: The Webcast can be accessed at: www.oregonlive.com/live/wiredwomen
