RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. -- Vangard Voice Systems, Inc., a pioneering provider of software for integrating speech into mobile device applications, today announced the appointment of Walt Straub to its board of directors. Straub is former co-founder of Rainbow Technologies, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of security products that protect against software privacy, and served as president and chief executive officer from 1993 through March of 2004 when it merged with SafeNet, a global leader in information security.

Straub serves on the board of directors for SafeNet and CAM Commerce Solutions, a public company specializing in point-of-sale software and hardware and eCommerce solutions. He was also appointed to the Board of Trustees of Drexel University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in finance, and serves on Concordia University's President's Advisory Council.
