(Nasdaq:IVII) announced today that NEC Corporation (Nasdaq:NIPNY) (FTSE: 6701q.l) is integrating InterVideo InstantON technology with its new NEC VERSA S3000 consumer notebook sold exclusively in the Hong Kong and China market. Through InterVideo's innovative PC/CE technology, consumers can enjoy watching DVDs and listening to music without having to wait for Windows(R) to load on their NEC VERSA notebooks.
With the integration of InterVideo InstantON technology to the NEC VERSA S3000 notebooks, consumers have a complete digital entertainment center. With a click of a button, users can access their DVDs and music collection instantly. After a quick boot-up in Linux, all of the CE-type applications instantly come to life. Consumers can watch VCD/DVDs with superior clarity and can listen to music with rich sound. Playback is enhanced with InterVideo's award-winning software, WinDVD(R), with its advanced navigation technology that allows users to skip DVD chapters, fast forward/backward, and pause.
A unique feature of the NEC VERSA S3000 is the impressive 12.1" WXGA Super Shine View LCD screen that gives consumers a more lifelike picture quality. Its liquid crystal screen can achieve 250 nits while ordinary screens can only reach 200 nits. These NEC VERSA S3000 notebooks are built with an Intel Pentium(R) M 1.5GHz processor, 256MB of memory, a 40/60 GB HDD, DDR333 high speed memory, and a six cell Lithium Ion capacity batteries that can support up to 4.7 hours of battery life. Also, the notebook features a DVD Super Multi Drive that supports various types of Optical Disk formats that includes DVD-RAM/-RW/-R/+RW/+R/-ROM, CD-RW/-R/-ROM.

InterVideo InstantON technology is currently available from InterVideo only to OEMs for evaluation and integration and is not sold as stand-alone retail software. The modular nature of the product enables OEMs and middleware developers to create customized solutions and incorporate only the features that are required for a particular device. InterVideo InstantON includes the OS, BIOS, drivers, engines, applications, user interface and remote control optimizations.
