ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- South River Technologies today announced that globally renowned KATZEN International, Inc. has chosen GroupDrive Collaboration Suite. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, KATZEN prides itself on providing highly efficient, low-energy, low-pollution fermentation ethanol production
Using a costly fee-based service and a third party server to store engineering files, KATZEN desired to take ownership of their solution and wished to reduce costs associated with administration and maintenance. They also wanted the ability to email links and collaborate on files within a highly secure environment. KATZEN considered designing a collaboration program using their current FTP server. Instead, they turned to their Strategic Technology Advisor, Mr. Donald Neumann of I-Systems Corporation.
"I didn't find any other product that did what GroupDrive does," explained Neumann. "I was looking for a simple, cost effective solution. GroupDrive was the obvious solution that provided high level security features, a fast implementation process and ease-of-use." After testing and research, Mr. Neumann presented the solution to KATZEN.
Impressed with the presentation of GroupDrive, KATZEN chose to implement using GroupDrive's customization options, renaming it the Project Portal. Although most of their engineers prefer using the GroupDrive client, KATZEN also offers the web interface (Project Portal) through a link on their website. Collaborating on and emailing notifications and file links is faster and more secure than their previous solution.
KATZEN has found GroupDrive to provide a competitive advantage for their engineers in the field. Engineers use GroupDrive to store large PowerPoint presentations for client meetings and conferences throughout the world. In addition, sending CDs and brochures to clients has become a thing of the past as GroupDrive's QuickLink feature makes it easy to distribute these materials electronically.
GroupDrive enables users to collaborate, distribute, store and access files securely across the Internet. Offering both a client and web based interface, GroupDrive integrates into the Windows Operating System enabling you to edit and save files within any Windows application. Storing files in a central location ensures users they have the most current version of the file and eliminates manual integrating of edits from multiple users.
