Intuit Marketplace Product Review: 24/7 Online Wholesale Order Processing
There is an increasingly stong trend to integrate accounting, marketing, customer service and operations management tools to eliminate redundant databases and database management tasks and to dramatically improve productivity and the quality of on-demand information.
There is an increasingly strong trend to integrate accounting, marketing, customer service, and operations management tools to eliminate redundant databases and database management tasks, and to dramatically improve productivity and the quality of on-demand information. For you, this can mean a smaller staff, more reliable and easily accessible information when you need it, and better customer service at a cost you can afford.
This is a review of an application created by a member of the Intuit Developer Network that extends the functionality of QuickBooks. It is not an endorsement; I just think the benefits it promises are worth sharing with readers who might want to take a closer look at it.
Santrio’s software allows your customers and sales reps to check product pricing and availability 24/7 and to order online, at the same time updating QuickBooks to reflect the sales transaction and reduction in inventory. Your customers and sales representatives are not only meeting their needs, they are doing the accounting work for you.
Pricing and availability component
“Your sales reps and customers get real-time pricing and availability information 24/7. The price list is linked to your items in QuickBooks and can be categorized and filtered.” Santrio
Online Order Entry
“As prices change or inventory levels vary in QuickBooks, your online information is automatically updated and always accurate; Secure, online price lists Real-time stock status, Integrated with QuickBooks” Santrio
Be aware that the “real time” stock status depends on how often QuickBooks is updated. The time lapse between synchronizations of the order entry website to QuickBooks is configurable. However, Larry Olson of Santrio indicated that most of their clients turned their QuickBooks computers off at night and synchronized with the order entry web application each morning.
A nice feature that Larry mentioned was that the order entry screen would default to the last order so customers did not have to waste a lot of time selecting products they ordered repeatedly from scratch.
Electronic Warehouse Shipping
“The invoice detail screen lets sales reps and customers track shipments. The carrier and tracking number are available on every invoice. Send them to your shipping personnel or public warehouse electronically. Online shipment details make it easy to track shipments to completion. Send delivery orders electronically, View pending and completed shipments online, Improve warehouse communications, Integrated with public warehouses” Santrio
Members of the Intuit Developer Network are trusted, independent developers and industry experts who have partnered with QuickBooks to create software applications that solve specific business needs for QuickBooks customers. I thought the potential benefits of this product made it worth bringing to your attention. You can find out more about this application and view an online demo at Intuit Marketplace.
