ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 1995--Supply Tech announced today that it has significantly increased the size of its Implementation Services organization. The move enables Supply Tech to offer more resources to companies interested in obtaining electronic commerce expertise and services.
According to Ted Annis, CEO of Supply Tech, the increased investment in implementation services underscores the company's belief that an effective EDI program requires more than just software. ``The service that an EDI vendor offers with its software has a major impact on how quickly users get up and running with EDI and how easy it is to maintain their system,'' Annis said. ``We have always considered service a key competitive advantage of our solution, and we will continue to invest the resources to maintain that edge.''
Annis pointed out that the recent trend toward outsourcing computer-related activities has made EDI implementation services even more valuable to customers. ``A lot of companies don't want to invest their own resources to develop and manage an EDI program,'' he explained. ``They would rather entrust the development and implementation phase of their program to an expert.''
Supply Tech's Implementation Services organization offers a set of services to address each phase of the EDI system implementation and maintenance process. The organization provides:
o Hub implementation services -- to help hubs identify and prioritize the critical success factors for implementing their EDI program o EDI integration services -- to integrate EDI directly into your internal software applications o EDI document mapping -- to define the way EDI standards are implemented for transactions o EDI map development -- to implement EDI transaction definitions so that STX(R) translates messages directly into the format users require o Implementation guide preparation -- to prepare a document that provides the key information a user's trading partners will require to begin performing EDI o Seminars and training -- to introduce potential trading partners to the key concepts of EDI and to educate users on the operation of their system.
Additionally, through its Trading Partner Implementation Program (TPIP), Supply Tech takes responsibility for contacting a company's trading partners, providing them EDI solutions, and helping them become EDI capable.
