PEO-specific functionality, web-enabled design, and track record
of success within service bureaus makes Genesys integrated suite the
clear choice for Allied Employer Resource
Genesys Software Systems, Inc., the Methuen, Mass.-based provider of software applications and outsourcing for human-resource management and payroll services, announced today that Allied Employer Resource, Inc., a professional employer organization (PEO), has selected Genesys' new Genesys PEO HRMS integrated human-resources (HR), payroll, and benefits software, also announced today. (Editors: See related news release.)
Allied sought a vendor that could provide rock-solid payroll processing, advanced HR capabilities, and browser-based access, including web-enabled employee and manager self-service. Allied's goal was to gain competitive advantage by leveraging technology to offer clients value-added services, while improving productivity by reducing the paperwork and manual intervention traditionally required to get information out to employees.
"Of course, we required a robust, accurate, production payroll application," said Allied president William Hutter. "In our business, if the paycheck isn't right, then your entire operation is in question. Genesys has a track record of success in supporting organizations with multicompany requirements, such as service bureaus. Not only does the company's software offer advanced features such as web-based access, but it's proven technology."
Companies Seek to Off-Load Back-Office Chores, Push Information to Front Office
Employment expense is one of the top two line items on most companies' P&L. Effective employment management demands a separate knowledge base that is distinct from most companies' core business, so small and medium-size companies are turning to PEOs for expertise, as well as their efficiency of scale when negotiating prices with insurance companies and similar providers. Using a PEO frees a company from the distractions of employment nuances and lets it focus on its core business functions.
Hutter, who is also the president of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of PEOs (NAPEO), said, "The evolution of HR management is that companies are outsourcing as many back-office operations as feasible, while pushing more and more day-to-day HR processes out to front-line managers. The only logical and cost-effective way to achieve that these days - and most likely for a long time to come - is via the internet. Genesys' model of ultra-thin client combined with web-browser access lets us get information into the hands of the people who need it."
Other Software Vendors Not as Well Suited to PEO Environment
Allied is a full service, consulting-based PEO that offers its clients far more than simple payroll processing. It assists with government compliance, payroll management, tax-advantaged employee benefit programs, work-site safety programs, HR-related training, and recruiting.
Said Hutter, "We believe that managing a PEO, and the real growth of the PEO business, will be based on how effectively companies can assume and manage risk related to employment. When seeking new human-resources, payroll, and benefits software, we considered ERP vendors, but decided we were more comfortable with the best-of-breed approach. When we began looking at Genesys, we also investigated Lawson and Ultimate, but inherent design features of the Genesys application were more suited to the PEO industry and our needs."
