BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1997--
Version 5.0 extends FrameWork to
Microsoft Windows NT and 95
Ptech, a leader in enterprise-wide business process modeling and code generation tools, today announced that FrameWork 5.0 for Windows 95 and NT systems is now shipping.
FrameWork is an object-oriented business process modeling and application development tool. It lets business and technology professionals use a single graphical interface to capture business goals and design processes to support them.
FrameWork 5.0 facilitates conceptualizing, modeling, and implementing processes and information for maximum competitive advantage. "In today's dynamic marketplace, there is enormous pressure to make educated decisions and implement them rapidly. Because FrameWork captures both business processes and the underlying rules in an electronic blueprint, it lets business and technology professionals work together to prototype, estimate, and deploy changes immediately," explained Kathryn Hughes, Ptech Vice President of Marketing.
Bruce Hiatt, Partner at the Pragmatica consulting firm in Toronto, adds, "Pragmatica has been searching for some time for a tool that is business-user-friendly. FrameWork allows us to provide process flows senior business executives can understand."
About FrameWork for Windows
Highly scalable, FrameWork can help reinvent single activities or streamline an entire enterprise. The product core is the Ptech KnowledgeBase, driven by a graphical user interface and designed to capture and store business models and their interactions. The KnowledgeBase is infinitely extensible to fit customer methods and becomes the master repository for policies, resources, and costs.
While constructing models, users can navigate the KnowledgeBase through interactive forms and queries, view any piece of stored information, and prototype changes at any level.
Benefits of the Ptech Approach
Using FrameWork with the Ptech companion product called the Abstract Code Generator, users can plug in templates from Ptech, their own developers, or third parties to generate C++ header and source code, Fort TOOL class definitions, Java or CORBA IDL code, or HTML reports for Internet publication, directly from business models. With FrameWork and the ACG users gain:
-- Ability to respond quickly to market changes -- Ability to capture and share business expertise throughout an
enterprise -- Shorter time to implement business process changes -- Increased visibility of and control over all business operations -- Technical Requirements
FrameWork 5.0 runs on Microsoft Windows 95 and Window NT versions 3.51. It requires 16 to 24 MB of RAM, 60 MB of disk space, and a high-resolution color monitor. FrameWork also runs on major UNIX platforms, and Ptech provides extensive consulting and support services. For details, contact 617-577-7100 or www.ptechinc.com . -0-
