AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 1999--Metrowerks, Inc., (Nasdaq:MTWKF) (TSE:MWK) (ME:MWK) a leading supplier of software development tools for desktop and embedded systems, announced today that CodeWarrior Professional Release 4 has been selected as a finalist in the Best Development Environment category for Game Developer magazine's Front Line Awards. The awards are the publication's tribute to the outstanding game development products and technology tools released in 1998. The Front Line Awards will be announced during the 1999 Game Developers Conference (GDC) (March 15-19, San Jose Convention Center), a trade-only event.

CodeWarrior Professional Release 4 features the latest version of the CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and is hosted on the Windows(R) 95/98, Windows(R) NT, Macintosh(R), and Solaris(TM) platforms. CodeWarrior Professional Release 4 includes processor-specific code generation support for Pentium-class and PowerPC processors. CodeWarrior Professional's C compiler is ANSI/ISO C compliant and the C++ compiler closely tracks the emerging ANSI/ISO C++ standard.
