Aug. 21--A fast-growing e-mail virus snarled rail traffic on the East Coast and infuriated computer users nationwide Wednesday but apparently spared most major corporations and institutions in California.
The "Sobig.F" virus, which started clogging e-mail inboxes Tuesday, became the latest malady to strike the nation's computers. It was declared the fastest-growing ever by MessageLabs Inc., a New York company that scans and filters e-mail for corporations.
At one point, MessageLa
