PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1997--Netwave Technologies Inc., a leading developer of wireless local area network (WLAN) products, today announces the appointment of James R. Baker as vice president of engineering.

Baker brings to Netwave Technologies more than 25 years of experience in communications and information systems development, marketing, and sales. Prior to joining Netwave, Baker was the President and COO of MediaWise Networks of San Jose, Calif. Baker has also held executive level positions with Digi International, Loral Data Systems, and Harris Corporation.
Baker earned a master of science in systems management from the Florida Institute of Technology and holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Clemson University. He currently resides in Pleasanton, Calif. with his wife Joyce.
