TrueSAN Networks, a leader in storage networking systems for next generation network infrastructure, today named Jon Auriemma Vice President of Operations and Services. TrueSAN also announced that it has recruited several industry leaders to various engineering positions within the company.
Jon brings to TrueSAN over 20 years of manufacturing and engineering management experience in the storage arena. In this key role, Jon will be focused on ensuring efficiency and quality within TrueSAN's Operations and Services organization. Prior to joining TrueSAN, Jon held senior positions at Western Digital, Seagate and Shugart where his organization's primary emphasis always related to quality, reliability, customer engineering and service. While at Western Digital, Jon's organization established best-in-class supplier metrics and achieved the number one supplier rating from major customers. Jon also spent two years in Singapore directing the customer engineering organization responsible for product advancement and logistics management. In this position, Jon implemented data analysis tools and systems for doubling factory productivity, focusing engineering efforts, and reducing product cost. He holds a BSEE from San Jose State University.

Rapidly Expanding Engineering Organization
TrueSAN also announced the addition of key engineering individuals to its rapidly expanding engineering organization:
Ronald L. Parks (Ron) joins the TrueSAN team as Director of Software Architecture. Ron brings over 30 years of software engineering experience to TrueSAN, with an extensive background in RAID and RAID management. With 15 years as a software architect and 10 years in team management, Ron is renown for building strong teams and bringing numerous products from inception to customer release. Most recently, Ron has worked in key software management and design positions at ConvergeNet/Dell, Adaptec, and Johnson & Johnson. He is credited as a co-inventor of three patents on RAID behavior. His knowledge of storage middleware from API design to target interface will be invaluable to TrueSAN. Ron holds a degree in Psychology and was an Aviation Electronics specialist in the U.S. Navy.
Roger Lai joins TrueSAN as Director of System Engineering. Roger brings 15 years of technical leadership and management experience in building storage subsystems, high-speed networks, and data management software. Prior to joining TrueSAN, Roger held engineering management roles at HP where he directed and helped launch its family of SAN management application software and device drivers. From 1998 to 1999, Roger directed Legato Systems' OEM Solutions and SAN Certification teams, responsible for integrating LAN-free backup, media management and serverless software with enterprise servers and peripherals from Sun, HP, Compaq, Dell and ISVs. Previous to that, Roger spent 10 years at Adaptec where he was Engineering Manager responsible for certification programs, worldwide test alliances, and technical marketing. Roger's specialties include building world-class labs and forging successful technical alliances with Microsoft/Intel and OEMs, as related to fibre channel, SCSI and PCI architectures. In addition, Roger managed international development centers and partnering facilities based in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India. Roger holds a BSEE degree in Digital Design from Santa Clara University, MS degree in Telecommunication Systems from National University, and MBA degree in General Management from the University of Phoenix.
Pak-Shun Lei (Pak) joins TrueSAN as Director of Software Engineering. Pak brings over 12 years of software/firmware/hardware development and technical management experience in mass storage systems, databases and distributed real-time systems to TrueSAN. Before joining TrueSAN, Pak was engineering manager/system architect in the mass storage group at NEC for 7 years. While at NEC, he led a team to architect, develop and deploy NEC's very first distributed virtual mass storage modeling system, which gave NEC a unique strategic edge to achieve over $300M annual revenue in mass storage business. Prior to NEC, Pak spent 2 years each at ABB and A.O. Smith developing distributed real-time monitoring & control systems and real-time databases for power plant and manufacturing applications. Pak received his MSEE, BSEE (Magna Cum Laude) and a minor in mathematics from Marquette University.
Alastair Taylor (At) joins the TrueSAN team as Chief RAID Technologist. At has over 40 years experience in the design and implementation of software/hardware systems. He comes to TrueSAN with an extensive background in RAID and storage subsystem design. He was instrumental in the implementation of both software RAID and hardware RAID controllers at Pacstor, Integra, Adaptec and ConvergeNet/Dell. At has served on both the SCSI and RAID Advisory Boards. He is considered one of the early RAID pioneers and has few peers in this field. At has a B.S. from Trinity College and a Master's in Mathematics from the University of Alabama.
