Business Editors

SUNRISE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2000

Equinox Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:EQNX), today announced the introduction of low priced SuperSerial 4- and 8-port PCI MultiModem products. At the same time, the company announced sharp reductions in the price of its SST

Digital and Analog Modem Pools, thereby firmly establishing price performance leadership across its family of dial access products.

The new 4- and 8-port SST MultiModem PCI adapters provide servers with powerful V.90 modems for direct connection to analog phone lines. Operating system support includes Windows NT, Windows 2000, Citrix Metaframe and Winframe, Linux, SCO Unixware and Openserver. Compatibility with a wide range of third-party software products enables rapid deployment of server-based solutions for Internet access, modem pooling, fax and dial access. As with all SuperSerial products, Equiview Plus management tool ships free in every box.

With list prices of only $895 and $1595, the SST 4- and 8-port MultiModem PCI products offer VARs and integrators up to 40 percent savings over competitive products. These server based adapters will be available through distributors and resellers in early July.

Price reductions on its expandable modem pool products include a list price reduction on the SST Analog Modem Pool chassis with 16 modems from $3,595 to $2,995 and a list price reduction of the SST Digital Modem Pool chassis, including 24 central site V.90/ISDN PRI capable modems, from $6,975 to $4,975. These significant price actions are effective immediately.

"The SuperSerial Technology in each of our remote access products provides our customers with outstanding performance and features at a very low price-per-port. As a result, we expect to continue to increase our share of the rapidly growing dial access market," said Tom Garrett, Equinox Vice President of Sales. "Competitive multi-modem adapters have been on the market, but none that are as cost effective and perform as well as our new SuperSerial products."
