ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2001

GroupServe, a leading developer of wireless-enabled, Internet-based groupware applications for team collaboration, announced today that President Tom Stroup will also take on the role of CEO.

Andrew Roscoe, former CEO, will stay on as the Executive Director.

Stroup's first role as CEO will be to oversee the commercial product launch of GroupPort(SM), its team collaboration solution, in early March. Other responsibilities will include overseeing the company's business development, strategic alliance, and product development efforts.

Stroup will also work closely with the rest of the management team to secure additional financing for future growth development initiatives.

Before coming to GroupServe, Stroup was President and CEO of P-Com Network Services, Inc., a leading international telecommunications services provider. He helped the company grow from 45 to over 400 employees within three years, as well as maintained 13 consecutive quarters of profitability.

Before P-Com Network Services, Stroup was founder, President and CEO of Columbia Spectrum Management (CSM), a premier wireless telecommunications consulting and negotiating firm. While there, he grew the company to over $21 million in revenue in less than three years and negotiated and closed its private market sale.

Stroup also served as President of the Personal Communications Industry Association.

"When I brought Tom on as President more than two months ago, I knew with his background that he would be the ideal person to take over the management of GroupServe," says Roscoe. "With the commercial launch of the product quickly approaching, it was the best possible time to transition Tom to this leading role at GroupServe. I have every confidence as CEO, Tom will continue to lead this company towards achieving our business goals."

Stroup adds, "The product launch is our first priority as our beta users will soon convert into revenue-generating customers, which I anticipate will help us achieve profitability within 12 months. Andy has done a tremendous job in setting up GroupServe for success by developing the business plan, completing the installation of an experienced management team and ensuring that product and partner development plans are in place. I intend to build upon his efforts with the commercial product launch, another round of funding, and profitability in the near future."
