The XML Academy is Software AG's training center for XML, the universal format for e-business on the Internet. The XML Academy's training center includes onsite and electronic courses and certification for all levels, and participants who qualify can become a certified XML engineer.
Created to help technical and business professionals maximize the potential of XML technology within their organization, Software AG's XML Academy offers XML standards courses, Tamino-specific courses and business offerings.
"Software AG is uniquely positioned to offer XML training and certification because of our leadership in XML technology and on the W3C, and our three decades of experience offering training on our own products to our customers," said Gary Voight, president and CEO, Software AG, Inc. "The XML Academy also supports our channel partners, which currently includes more than 130 global partners, providing them with an environment to improve XML skills and product knowledge."
Software AG's pioneering leadership and commitment to XML has been quantified through significant recognition in the marketplace. Software AG's Tamino was ranked as the clear leader in the recently released IDC XML and Virtual Database Management System (DBMS) Market report with 40.5% worldwide market share. IBM, HP and BEA, the largest application server providers, have all recently chosen Tamino as the de facto XML solution for their e-business solutions. In March, Tamino was chosen as the Best Database Product by readers of the XML-Journal.
Technical certification is available for both XML and Tamino. Successful completion of rigorous testing is required to meet the qualification for either of the Certified Engineer programs. Exams for certification are based on World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and OASIS standards, organizations of which Software AG is an active member.
The U.S. launch of the XML Academy is on the heels of Software AG's worldwide XML Academy openings in such locations as Austria, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
Software AG's XML Academy in the United States is based in three locations: Reston, VA, Denver, CO, and San Ramon, CA.
