This summer's restaurant deals – the ones where restaurants are sold, bankrupted or acquired have been piping hot as stock and equity swapped hands faster than Jesse at Fuddruckers could yell out, "Number 86. Your order is ready."

And Fuddruckers was one of the deals made, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The hamburger chain was acquired for megabucks. In a story written by Alan Liddle, the restaurant market is sizzling again with deals being made across the board from fast food to sit down concepts.

Out of the variety of mergers, acquisitions, stock swaps and buy-outs, many of the deals involved a bankruptcy and private equity firms looking for ways to expand their portfolios, proving there is life after a near death experience.
