Personal digital assistants (PDA) have established themselves as personal information managers (PIM). Now they are proving useful for accessing e-mail and browsing the Web. A PDA is ideal for travelling users who need to access e-mail on a corporate network. This requires the use of a virtual private network (VPN) to get through the firewall protecting most of today's networks.
