CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1999--
IBS Interactive, Inc. (Nasdaq: IBSX), an Internet and IT business solutions provider, today announced the successful deployment of a proprietary Internet technology for connecting mainframe computers securely to the Web.
The application, called FRAMECONNECT(TM), is a ColdFusion(R)-based serial port communication architecture that links mainframes securely to NT Web Servers for real-time data delivery. This unique interface satisfies a growing need to assist businesses using mainframes to launch real-time applications securely on the Web.
According to John Ceci, Programming Manager at IBS Interactive, several early-stage meetings with mainframe administrators identified the opportunity to address this growing need. "We quickly realized the process for deploying mainframe data online was traditionally difficult and very expensive," said Ceci. "By developing FRAMECONNECT(TM) technology, we have significantly reduced the deployment time and costs associated with mainframe to Web data migration."
Nearly one year in development, IBS' FRAMECONNECT(TM) technology has been successfully tested and deployed in mission critical applications. "Most recently," cited Ceci "we have deployed this technology for a national alarm call center allowing hundreds of retail alarm system dealers to input and retrieve real-time data including alarm history, alarm status, current account information and other communications directly from the Web to the company's mainframe. Prior to activating this technology, account administration was executed manually," Ceci concluded.
IBS Interactive's President and CEO Nicholas Loglisci commented, "IBS' FRAMECONNECT(TM) technology is another exciting IBS Internet application that demonstrates our commitment to corporate Web development and integration services."
The IBS Internet Programming team develops custom applications primarily in ColdFusion(R), Visual Basic, ASP, PHP and Java.
