More Trains coming for Social Media

 
Each month I read more and more about social media and that you need to get onboard. Now. Today. Yesterday.

Hogwash. And I'm a fan, a consultant, and aficionado of the space. There will be more trains leaving the station.

There's a recent statistic that shows that 50% of small businesses do not have a website. That's amazing. That's stunning. But many of those businesses are doing just fine.




I’m a little late in reporting this info, but you may have missed it too.

• Facebook Visits Increased 194 Percent in Past Year.
• U.S. visits to social networking sites have increased 62 percent year over year;
• Visits from 55 and older age group have increased 77 percent
• Also noteworthy:  Twitter had the largest percentage gain in market share of visits among the top five visited Web sites, increasing 1170 percent compared with September 2008.

So what do you do with this information?

I say, stay on the platform, watch the train. Maybe get on and ride to the next station. Maybe wait for the next train.

Marketing and life won’t leave you behind. No matter what the experts say. Run your business and focus on your customers.
