GE, GLS to co-develop soft-touch systems: cooperation in compatible co-moulding systems to offer...

GE Plastics and GLS Corp. are to collaborate to offer soft touch systems to users. The two US groups aim to develop compatible grades of engineering thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers for use in co-moulding.

The firms will focus on combinations of GLS's speciality elastomers, moulded over GE Plastics' substrates, to be marketed under the "Softfx" brand name.

"This arrangement is going to help us to provide optimised `hard-soft' systems that will help reduce our customer's product development cycle--and get their products to market quicker," said Wa
