CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1996--Delphi Internet Services Corp. today announced a new free service for its members, WebCentral, which introduces Delphi members to the Internet's World Wide Web and HTML, the Web's programming language.
This is the third major announcement
"WebCentral promises to be one of our most-used sites within Delphi," said Bruns. "Delphi members have an insatiable appetite for information about the Web. We're putting some of our best resources into this area to ensure that Delphi's members are the most up-to-date on how to navigate and program on the Web."
Continued Bruns, "Delphi is on the move! In six weeks we've announced three new services for our members, and I don't see any end to this trend through the end of 1996. We're letting the word out that Delphi provides the friendliest and most knowledgeable Internet experience in the country."
WebCentral is a discussion area revolving around the technical issues of the World Wide Web. Delphi members who are new to the Web can ask basic questions, including how to use search engines, how to download files, print, deal with graphic-laden sites and compare browsers -- and the moderators and forum members will answer these questions quickly.
The forum can also handle more advanced questions relating to HTML programming -- a particularly useful subject given that Delphi offers its members for no additional charge the ability to post their own Web site of up to 10 megabytes in size.
Walt Howe, author of Internet Basics and one of the Internet's most knowledgeable citizens, is the moderator of WebCentral. "No question is too simple or basic for WebCentral," says Howe. "Nowhere else on the Internet can you find thousands of decent, caring and up-to-date people as within Delphi -- and within Delphi, the basic rule is, there are no stupid questions."
The Delphi Internet Service is home to some of the world's friendliest and most knowledgeable Internet communities. Discussion groups, called forums, cover a wide range of topics and interests, including technologies, news events, hobbies and lifestyles. New forums appear weekly, as Delphi is the only on-line service that allows its members to create their own Custom Forums on whatever topic they propose.
Delphi is easily accessible for virtually any owner of a computer and a modem, no matter what model or age, and is particularly conducive for the visually impaired community. -0-
