ProdeaBeacon is a next-generation decision support product that provides OLAP capabilities by layering a "virtual cube" around the RDBMS. Based on a three-tier client/server architecture, ProdeaBeacon brings rapid response and enterprise scalability to the data warehouse analysis environment. The three tiers of the product's architecture are an industry standard relational database, which acts as the data store; the Beacon Application Server, which performs the analytical processing functions and interacts directly with the relational database; and the Beacon Client, which includes tools for analysis, reporting, and administration.

In addition to advanced analytical processing, ProdeaBeacon also provides proactive agent capabilities for the data warehouse. Server-based agents can be created to notify users of problems and opportunities discovered in the warehouse or can trigger entire automated analytical processes. Included with the ProdeaBeacon product is the award-winning Prodea/Synergy technology, bringing rapid solutions development, next-generation application integration, and workflow automation to the decision support environment.
